Today I have spent time working on the Flock brand and put together a comprehensive brand character document for the Flock brand. Other team members have been sharing their work with me as planned, via Basecamp and via email and there has been some really good progress. It’s evident that the team all want to succeed and are putting in the effort which is far more than I dared hoped for. On reflection, I was a little cynical at the onset of this project that we would be able to work together well on a continuous basis. I Based this on other team work projects that I have been part of in the past, where, to be honest, it was a complete disaster! but I am pleasantly surprised at the level of commitment and amount of co-operation team vermilion is contributing and I can see some great work being produced.
Below are spreads from the Brand Style/Character document I have been working on today.
At first I found images of flocks of birds from an internet search and sourced a number of excellent shots that were creative commons. I put the document together but wasn’t really happy with the results, I felt it didn’t tie in to the art aspect of the project enough. So I began another search this time for collective objects and I felt this demonstrated a more sophisticated line of thinking. Again the images are all creative commons. I will suggest to the team that they could be replaced with images taken by Julius or illustrations/images created by other team members, should they wish to contribute to this part of the project.
